Game Changer Campaign Finishes with $18.85 Million Raised
The Emily Krzyzewski Center, located in Durham, NC, announced the completion of its three-year Game Changer comprehensive fundraising campaign. Goaled at raising $15 million for the Emily K Center, the campaign reached its end on December 31, 2020, with $18.85 million raised – more than $3 million over its goal.
The Game Changer Campaign provided funding to help support Center operations, enhance educational programs, ensure the Center’s long-term sustainability, and expand the facility. Due to the success of the campaign:
- Construction is underway on a 7,500 sq. ft. building expansion.
- The Center’s endowment more than doubled.
- Seven new, named scholarships were created, including the ‘Brotherhood Endowment,’ a scholarship created and supported by former Duke Men’s Basketball players and managers.
- The Center grew from serving 500 students in the first year of the campaign to more than 2,000 today.

“I cannot imagine life without the Emily K Center. I go to the Center every week, sometimes even when it is not my curriculum night. I feel like I am in a safe space surrounded by people who only want to help me succeed when I am the Center.
